Level 1 Courses
Nayland College currently offers two main courses and one additional course (with limited entry) at Level 1 to best meet the needs of our students.
1A Mathematics
Our 1A course is an academic course with a focus on linking algebraic ideas to applications. This course is intended for those who intend to continue studying Mathematics to Level 3. The course covers:
- 1.4 Linear Algebra AS 91029 Int (3 Credits)
- 1.1 Physics (we borrowed a standard) AS 90935 Int (4 Credits)
- 1.3 Tables, Equations and Graphs AS 91028 Ext (4 Credits)
- 1.11 Bivariate Data AS 91036 Int (3 Credits)
- 1.12 Chance and Data AS 91037 Ext (4 Credits)
- 1.1 Number AS 91026 Int (4 Credits)
The outline for the year can be found here: 1A - 2020.pdf. (Note: Post Lockdown, we had adjusted and will combine Physics and Bivariate)
1S Mathematics
Our 1S course provides students with a general level of mathematics and can prepare them for continued study as far as Level 2. The emphasis is on practical applications. The course covers:
- 1.1 Number AS 91026 Int (4 Credits)
- 1.13 Probability Simulations AS 91038 Int (3 Credits)
